For this project we had around a month to create any sort of digital art piece we wanted. I chose to do an art piece that incorporated gel transfer. Gel transfer is the process of using a Xerox copy of a drawing and/or any other picture, adding the gel medium, rubbing off the paper, and the image being transferred to the gel that you then mod podge to a canvas. I had very little experience with this and wanted to create something that I could still use some studio art with. I chose to use the same facial image from my pre-assessment to make the eyes on one of my final pieces. I chose a copy of a mandala image that I had traced over but then didn't take a copy of. This affected the final product because I didn't get to use the drawing and had to use a copy of the image instead. One major take-away I have from this project is to always copy my drawings with the Xerox printer/copier because if it isn't a Xerox copy the image won't transfer to the gel. To complete this project I used Liquitex Matte Gel Medium, 5x5 canvas boards, and Mod Podge.
