Project SummaryOn December 7, 1941, there was a Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. This led to the United States entry into WWII. The attack led to war hysteria and the assumption that all Japanese people were a threat, especially those living in the U.S. In 1942, Civilian Exclusion Orders were put in effect. It forced Italians, Germans, and Japanese citizens to be gathered up. In the end the Japanese people received the majority of backlash and ended up being taken to internment camps. People suspected of having more loyalty towards Japan were sent to Japan and others ended up living in the camps for 3 years. There is a lot of controversy as to the constitutionality of the camps and our goal was to see how we felt about them after doing our research.
